John S. "Jack" Robertson

Builder - inducted in 2007

Of Jack's numerous contributions to the community, a lasting legacy from his position as Chair of the 1995 Western Canada Summer Games is the Legacy Sports Center at Exhibition Park, completed in 2002. The building sits on the apron of another facility Jack played an instrumental role in creating - Rotary Stadium at Exhibition Park. Jack also helped create the first 8 lane regulation running track in Abbotsford, completed in the late 1960's at Abbotsford Senior Secondary.

Jack's contributions to sport began with a 30 year career in coaching, officiating, and event hosting in Athletics and then expanded to a key leadership role as President of Pacificsport Fraser Valley and Co-Chair of Pacificsport BC, and as a director on a number of boards of governance for sports organizations in the community. Jack's vision to create a lasting legacy to honor the athletes, coaches and builders of Abbotsford led to the building of the Abbotsford Sports Hall of Fame as an integral part of the Legacy Sport Center.
