Community Sports Builder - inducted in 2012

Linda has been involved in curling for over 50 years in the community of Abbotsford. While Linda has many notable achievements as a curler herself, she is being inducted into the Hall of Fame in the builder category because of her accomplishments in the area of developing the sport of curling and her status as one of the top officials in Canada.

During the 1980's, Linda coordinated the Junior Curling program in Abbotsford, which then led to many other recognizable efforts. She co-chaired the 2003 Canadian Mixed Championships and also co-chaired the 2012 Canadian Senior's Curling Championship. More recently, it is in the area of officiating that she has done a tremendous service to the sport of curling. In 2000, she was the Head Official at the Canadian Ladies Championship. In 2007-8, Linda was Deputy Umpire and Deputy Chief Umpire at the Canadian Championships. Internationally, Linda has been involved in World Junior's, World Men's and the International Continental Cup. She was Deputy Chief Umpire in 2008 at the World Wheelchair Championships in Switzerland. Also, she served as Deputy Chief at the Para-Olympics and statistician at the 2010 Olympic Games. Linda was recognized internationally when she was asked to give the "Officials Oath" on behalf of all officials at the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Para-Olympic Games in Vancouver.
