After a superb career as a basketball player at high school and university, Pat turned to coaching with outstanding success. While at Aldergrove High School, Pat developed a powerful senior girls basketball program and within a span of five years, Pat’s girls teams won a gold, two silver and two bronze medals at B.C. provincial championships. Pat transferred to WJ Mouat Secondary School and coached various boys and girls teams.

From 1995 - 2006, Pat became the Head Coach of the University College of the Fraser Valley Men’s Basketball team. Pat guided the UFV Cascades to four BC College Athletic Association championships and three Canadian College National titles.

During Pat's coaching career, he has received numerous awards including BCAA Coach of the Year (1998) and BC College Coach of the Year (2000 & 2002). Pat has been a tireless worker and promoter for the sport in Abbotsford both by coaching and his involvement in summer camps and clinics.
